Police and Crime Commissioner says #ThankYouNHS and thank you to all our key workers

In showing his support for the #ThankYouNHS campaign, Mark Burns-Williamson, West Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), said: “I wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all NHS staff, our police officers, staff and volunteers, and all workers carrying out crucial services in West Yorkshire and beyond at this critical time.

“They are working flat out, in many cases in harm’s way, in order to keep us all safe.

“They deserve our respect and kindness, whether that is by staying home to reduce the spread of this COVID-19 virus, or being considerate in the amount of food we’re buying, making sure there is enough for everyone. We’ve all seen the heart breaking photos and videos of key workers and vulnerable people staring at empty shelves and there is no excuse or reason for that to have happened or continue to happen.

“I am continuing to work closely with West Yorkshire Police and valued partners through our Tri-services Collaboration Board and the Local Resilience Forum (LRF), including the NHS and Fire & Rescue Service to do all that we can to fight the spread of COVID-19, supporting our communities and key workers.

“We all need to fully follow the Government and NHS advice and to look out for one another.

“I have also now launched a coronavirus page on my website which contains useful information and support, for more information please visit https://www.westyorkshire-pcc.gov.uk/coronavirus.”
