What personal information we collect

The Police and Crime Commissioner processes information relating to victims of crime, vulnerable individuals and other recipients of police services. This information may be provided by the individual themselves or by their representative and may include contact details and personal information about the complaint or the case.

This includes names, contact details and personal information relating to the case.

Why we process this information

This processing relates to the Police and Crime Commissioner's functions relating to community safety and crime prevention and engaging with people in the community arising from the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 and is processed by way of a 'public task'.

Who we share it with

We may share this information with West Yorkshire Police or other partner agencies in order to deal with the complaint or the case.

Where information is shared with local safeguarding boards and other partners for the purposes of community safety it is anonymised first.

Your rights

You have a right to access the personal information that we process. This is a subject access request and can be made by contacting the Data Protection Officer at the Police and Crime Commissioner's Office. ([email protected] or by telephone 01924 294000).

Where we process information on the basis of a 'public task' you have the right to object to processing. You also have a right to have incorrect information rectified and to restrict processing of the information until this is done.
