Increase font size

The text size on this website can be changed using the methods detailed below. Please check which web browser you are using to access this website (a web browser is the application used to access websites, the most common web browsers are listed below).

If you have a mouse with a wheel and are using any of the below browsers, you can increase and decrease the size of the fonts in your web browser by holding down the Ctrl key and move the mouse wheel up or down. You can also press down and hold the Ctrl key and press either the + or keys on the top of the keyboard. You can reset your font size to your default setting by pressing the Ctrl key and 0. Click on the web browser you are using to find out how to increase/decrease the size of the text.

Note: The methods listed below are meant as a guide. Browsers regularly update and the method to increase text size may change slightly. The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner will keep this list as updated as possible.

Internet Explorer

  • Open Microsoft Internet Explorer
  • Click Tools
  • Click Internet Options
  • Click the Fonts button at the bottom of the General tab
  • Adjust the font as required (if you need more options, you can adjust how fonts are used by clicking the Accessibility button in the General tab)

Mozilla Firefox

  • Click Tools
  • Click Options
  • Click the Content button
  • You can specify the default font type, as well as the font size (if you require more options click the Advanced button)


Google Chrome

  • Open Chrome
  • Click on the Menu icon (three horizontal lines in a box, usually at the top right of the screen next to where you type the website address)
  • Look down the list until you find zoom
  • Increase or decrease the zoom as required


Netscape

  • Open Netscape
  • Click Tools
  • Click Options
  • Click the Fonts & Colours button
  • Adjust as required


Opera

  • Open Opera
  • Click Tools
  • Click Preferences
  • Click the Web pages tab
  • Adjust font as required ( if you need more settings to adjust your font size, click the Advanced tab and click the Fonts option)


Safari

  • In the Safari menu bar, click on View.
  • Click on "Make Text Bigger" to increase the font size or "Make Text Smaller" to decrease the font size
  • You can also press and hold the Apple key and the + or - key to increase or decrease the font size.


Mobile Safari (iPad and iPhone)

The Mobile Safari browser does not have a feature for changing the font size. You can zoom in and out on web pages by using two fingers and either move them apart to zoom in or pinch together to zoom out.
