Business Crime Reduction Centre and West Yorkshire Police join forces to shut the shop on business crime (19 Aug 2014)

Businesses across West Yorkshire are invited to attend a free event aimed at reducing business crime through crime prevention and security advice.

The event, which is being jointly run by West Yorkshire Police and the Business Crime Reduction Centre (BCRC), will be held at Whitwood Enterprise Park in Castleford on 1st September and runs from 10am until 2pm.

West Yorkshire's Police and Crime Commissioner Mark Burns Williamson said:
"Thriving businesses are a key feature of any healthy community and if we are to improve people's lives and create jobs in West Yorkshire we need local businesses to develop and do well.

"Working with partners to ensure that crime prevention is at the forefront of all our efforts to reduce the opportunity for business crime is essential, as is educating businesses on how to prevent it from happening in the first place. Well trained staff and  awareness of risks are key to preventing crime."

West Yorkshire Police PCSO Steve Dye and the BCRC said "The Business Crime Reduction Centre and West Yorkshire Police understand not everyone can afford time away from their business - which is why the BCRC Roadshow was created. The roadshow brings crime prevention to the business's doorstep and is an excellent opportunity to speak to a trained Business Advisor and sign up to the free business security assessment."
