West Yorkshire's PCC is Urging Residents to Have Their Say on Policing, Community Safety and Wellbeing During Covid19 Pandemic

Monday 8 June, 2020

West Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Mark Burns-Williamson is urging residents across the county to have their say about wellbeing, policing and wider community safety during the ongoing Covid19 pandemic.

The survey has launched today and will be an opportunity for residents and communities across West Yorkshire to share their views and have their say on the impact of Covid19 but also on police contact and visibility, Neighbourhood Policing and community cohesion.

The deadline for responses is 29th June and when we have collated all the responses steps will be taken to work with the police and our partners to address the issues raised

Mark Burns-Williamson, West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), said: “As PCC, I want to work with our communities to ensure they are safe and feel safe. The Coronavirus pandemic has left many people in challenging situations both personally and professionally, I have been working closely with West Yorkshire Police and our various partners to ensure safety concerns have also been raised directly with the Government through regular conversations with Ministers.”

“I would be grateful if our communities could spare some time to complete the short questionnaires so we can gather their views and encourage colleagues, friends and family to do the same.

“I want to make sure that myself, West Yorkshire Police and all our partners are aware of the views, experiences and concerns during these uncertain times we find ourselves in. As well as views on policing, crime and community safety, I am committed to ensuring that I can do whatever I can to support all our communities throughout West Yorkshire.”

The questionnaire can be found online at the following address: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/WYPCCJune20/

We really do want to listen to your views about policing, wellbeing and community safety during the ongoing Covid19 pandemic, anyone who would prefer to talk to us outside of the survey or about any other engagement opportunity should contact us via policingandcrime@westyorks-ca.gov.uk.
