Annual Report 2016-2017

Annual Report 2016/2017

Welcome to the Annual Report of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for West Yorkshire. This report charts the activities and the achievements of me, my office, the police, and our partners. It does not seek to provide an exhaustive list of all of our work, rather a real sense of the scope of what has been delivered by the OPCC, including through our work in partnership.

The report highlights work around the 16 Priorities contained within the Police and Crime Plan 2016-21 including promoting community cohesion, tackling crime and anti-social behaviour, making sure criminal justice works for communities and supporting victims and witnesses.

Partnership events focusing on road safety, community cohesion, and safeguarding children in the digital world, are just some of those carried out to ensure public views and partnership working were integrated into tackling those priorities.

I hope you find this Annual Report useful and informative but, as ever, if you require any further information or would like to raise a policing or community safety issue directly, please do not hesitate to contact me here at the OPCC. Best wishes,

Mark Burns-Williamson OBE
Police and Crime Commissioner for West Yorkshire
