Seagulls ReUse
Seagulls ReUse received £5,083.40 from
the Safer Communities Fund which went towards their "We Grow
People" scheme which worked with ex-offenders and referrals from
probation as well as other volunteers.
Seagulls is an environmental social enterprise working to promote and develop a community resource centre in Leeds.
Seagulls main activities are:
Seagulls Paint Store - They remix and reuse leftover/unwanted paint. They have a contract with Leeds City Council to collect paint from 8 of their household waste sites. The paint is then sorted, remixed and sold as a cheap / value alternative particularly for local and lower income customers.
Mosaic and creative arts - Artists and
volunteers teach and support local community organisations,
facilitating the creation of public art.
Volunteer Programme - Their many volunteers do a
large variety of jobs, many of them hard work and a bit messy. They
support them with a friendly, inclusive and supportive atmosphere;
where they teach skills, improve confidence, employability.
