Supporting Victims

Putting victims, in particular the most vulnerable, first was one of my pledges when I was re-elected as your Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) in 2016.

010 - 18-Nov -2015v2

This Supporting Victims page is designed to show you what services are available across West Yorkshire and in your area commissioned by your Police and Crime Commissioner to ensure you are supported when you need it most.

The sidebar on the left hand side and the table below outlines all the services commissioned by the PCC in your area, and/or the Ministry of Justice, that offer practical and emotional support and details of all the victims' hubs also available for those wishing to walk in to centres and access support.

I will continue to commission the most appropriate services that victims and witnesses need, building on the excellent work already being undertaken around priorities including domestic violence and sexual abuse, hate crime, human trafficking, road safety and restorative justice.

It is important for victims and witnesses to know they can access all the services listed here regardless of whether you wish to report a crime to the police. The purpose of these services is to support you, or someone you may know who has been affected by crime, in coping and recovering.

Support is there for you, whether that be accessing Victim Support's Live Chat function to speak to a trained advisor, or accessing our Help for Victims website to see what other services are best suited to meet your needs, or speaking to a trained advisor at Victim Support.

Please know that you are not alone.
