PCC statement following disorder in Halton Moor, Leeds

Mark Burns-Williamson, Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for West Yorkshire, said: “Halton Moor is a strong community and I know police and partners are working closely together to ensure people within that community are safe, supported and reassured in light of recent events in the last few days.

“I have had a full briefing with the Chief Constable and fully support the swift actions taken by West Yorkshire Police since the weekend.

“I am maintaining oversight and supporting partnership work with police and partners, including local councillors, following these incidents to ensure Halton Moor remains a safe place.

“I would encourage anyone in the community who has information that could assist the investigation, particularly relevant mobile phone or dashcam footage to contact Leeds District CID via 101 quoting Operation Digpark reference 13200559871 or online via www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat
